Every dollar should trace to the work it funded.

Beacon is a finance and operations hub for mission-driven organizations: one place to see where the money is, what it's committed against, and what the people it pays for are actually working on.

The problem it solves

In a grant-funded organization, a single hour of work touches payroll, the general ledger, fund accounting, and revenue recognition before it reaches a report. That hour is also the event that recognizes the revenue. Today the chain is assembled by hand, so a simple question can take days to answer and can't be verified without rebuilding the answer.

Funders, state agencies, and auditors all ask for the same connection: which work did this money pay for? Beacon makes that chain readable, without asking a team that has never kept time cards to start keeping them.

What it does

  • RevenueFunding position. Committed, received, recognized, and still conditional, with restrictions visible on the face of the record.
  • AllocationsEffort without time cards. Allocations derived from payroll, confirmed in a manager review that takes minutes per pay period.
  • SpendExpense and travel rollups. Card spend and trips reconciled against the programs and grants they belong to.
  • PeopleDirectory and payroll views. Headcount, departments, and cost, tied to the same identity layer as everything else.
  • ReportingPacks and extracts. Department rollups, award reporting, and projections generated from the reviewed record.
  • TrustProvenance on every figure. Each number shows its source and when it was last pulled, with feed health in plain view.

Where it stands

A working demo is being built on invented data for a fictional nonprofit, so the workflow can be explored end to end without exposing anyone's real numbers. The stack is a web application with its own database, deployed independently.
